Last week we was in the FTF in Paris. Freescale did a great conference in a great location, the opera hotel in paris.
Our interest in the FTF was RF technology (Zigbee, WirelessHART and Synkro was my interest).
The open session was introduced by the Freescale EMEA Chief that introduce to us the new Freescale CEO Rich Beyer. Mr Beyer talked about the new direction of the company and the three markets that freescale want to leader, silicon electronic to optimize the consumption of energy, improbe the healtcare in the ager people and make a green technology to take care the planet.
The session was also conducted by the research director of valeo in france,who explain the new products that valeo are developing to the automotive market using Freescale technology: Zero stop consumption engine
This engine stops when the vehicle is not in movement, where is in a traffic congestion the electronic controls the inyectors in the engine and stop it. When the user want to continue the electronic starts the engine. Valeo says that this technology save 25% of fuel in the city, and 5% outside the city.
